THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 28 Sep 1989. 'Ruth Kimball Ball, 64, of Amarillo died Friday, 22 Sep 1989, at 11:40 p.m. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, 25 Sep, in St. Paul United Methodist Church, Amarillo, with Dr. Keith Wiseman officiating. Burial was at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, 26 Sep, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. John Peel officiating. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ball was born in Deport and graduated from Deport High School in 1942 and from Texas Women's University in 1947. She married Charles E. [Elihue] Ball of Minter in 1947. For 20 years, they lived in Dallas where he was regional editor of Farm Journal. In 1972, they moved to Amarillo where he was a longtime executive of Texas Cattle Feeders Association. Mrs. Ball was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Texas Cattle Women Association and the American Cattle Women's Association. She was a past national chairman of Beef for Fathers Day. She was a member of Federated Home Arts Club of Amarillo, the National Society of Tole and Decorative Painters and Mini Casa de Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a son, Charles E. Ball Jr. of Lincoln, Neb.; a daughter, Mary Ann Rhys of McKinney, and six grandchildren.'
