Mary Frances Furman is survived by her sister, Betty June Anderson of Atlanta, GA; four children, Carol Lambert (Clarke) of Green Valley, AZ, Christy Furman (John McGuire) of Pueblo, CO, Robert Furman, Jr. (Mary Hart) of Tacoma, WA, and Patrick Furman of Boulder, CO; four granddaughters, Chesney D'Avis (Greg), Lindsey Dougherty, Sarah Furman, and Katherine Furman; great-granddaughter, Kathryn Jane D'Avis; sister-in-law, Margarita Kilpatrick; and Bucky - our beloved Corgi.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Bob Furman; and her brother, C. William Kilpatrick.
Mary Frances was born in Nashville, TN, and raised in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from the University of North Carolina and was attending Yale University School of Nursing when she met Bob; they married February 10, 1945.
Bob's medical career took them to New Haven, CT; Nashville, TN; Oklahoma City, OK; Aspen, CO; Indianapolis, IN; Colorado Springs, CO; Scottsdale, AZ; Sierra Vista, AZ; and eventually to La Posada in Green Valley.
Her greatest satisfactions in life were to have beaten colon cancer, be married to Bob for 68 years, and to get to know her children as adults.
Mary Frances' family will celebrate her life at a later date. Mary Frances' wish was to be cremated, with her ashes spread under a magnolia tree.
