Mary Jane worked for Wyeth Laboratories, Marietta for 38 years, retiring in 1988. She attended McCaskey High School, Lancaster. Known as the 'Flower Lady' in her neighborhood, Mary Jane loved taking care of her flowerbeds. She took pleasure in shopping and cooking, especially for her family, who enjoyed her spaghetti sauce and potpie. Mary Jane always endeared the times spent in the company of her friends and neighbors, as well as her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Liebfried Kiehl.
Mary Jane will be missed by her four children, Juetta Lu Nell, David G. Barclay, Jeffrey M. Barclay, all of Maytown, and Mary Jo Barclay, Hummelstown; seven grandchildren, Gordon, Jr., Gregory, Kelly, Jason, Josh, Jenna, and Todd; six great grandchildren, Rodney, Ryan, Scottie, Lauren, Quentin, and Camrie; and a sister, Esther Lausch, Denver.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary Jane's funeral at the Sheetz Funeral Home, 16 E. Main St., Mount Joy on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 11 am with the Reverend Robert M. Lescallette officiating. Interment to follow in Maytown Union Cemetery. Friends may view and visit with the family on Thursday at the Funeral Home from 9:30 until 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary Jane's name may be made to the American Heart Assn., 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603 or to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O.
