Preston E. Kidd, 76,of York Haven, died Sunday, October 26, 2008, at his home. He was the husband of the late Ruth V. (Rouscher) Kidd. A viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service at John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave., with the Rev. Judith A. McKee officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with full military rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Kidd was born March 28, 1932, in Emigsville, a son of the late Elmer and Leah (Williams) Kidd. He had been employed at Fox Pool Company, and previously worked at Yorktowne Optical and Williams Tool Company. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended Grace Lutheran Church and was a member of the VFW Post 2493 in Mt. Wolf, the American Legion Pleasureville Post, and the Girard AA. Mr. Kidd is survived by three sons, Michael A. Kidd of York, Rick L. Kidd and his wife, Gladys and Martin L. Kidd and his wife, Debra, all of York Haven; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. He was one of four children and is survived by a sister, Shirley Snell; and a stepsister, Gloria Godden; and nieces and nephews. www.kefferfh.com
