Pioneer Capitan Woman Dies
Mrs. Ellen Key, who was born in 1883 Capitan in 1917, died early this week and funeral services were held Wednesday in the Capitan First Baptist Church with the Rev. Milford Misner officiating. Chapel of Roses Funeral Home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Key was a widow, and only two children survive, a son, Ernest Key of Carrizozo, and a daughter, Mrs. Hilda Young, Capitan..
Burial was in the cemetery at Capitan. Attending the rites from here were Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Buckner. A large crowd of mourners attended the funeral, numbering many of the oldtimers of Lincoln County in their midst
Mrs. Ellen A. Key, age 83 of Capitan passed away Monday morning in Roswell Hospital after a short illness.
Mrs.Key has been a resident of Capitan sine 1917. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs Hila Young of Capitan, M, one son, Ernest D. Key, Carrizozo, NM, one sister, Mrs. Ella Buckner, Roswell, NM, three grandchildren, 6 greatrandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday,March 2nd, 1966 at 2:00 p.m. in Baptist Church, Capitan, with Rev. Milford Misener officiating. Interment made in Capitan Cemetery.
