Patrick Joseph Kernan, the son of William G. Kernan and Margaret A. Lapham, was born on March 1, 1953 in Myrtle Point, Coos Co., Oregon.
After leaving High School, and from 1972 to 1975, Pat served in the U.S. Navy aboard USS Hull.
On September 7, 1974, at the Church of God in Garden Grove, Orange Co., California, he married Colleen Drachuk. Before their divorce, Patrick and Colleen had one son together, named Jason Kernan. Jason was born on March 24, 1975, and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. After their divorce, Colleen remaried and Jason was adopted by her new husband.
On December 18, 1992, Patrick passed away from atherosclerotic heart disease. He was buried on December 21, 1992 at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona. Before his death, Patrick worked as an operations manager for a security gaurd service in Tucson.
