Helen (Kennedy) Cline, 73, wife of Nelson Cline, of 46 Valley View Drive, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at her residence. She was born September 7, 1940, in Mount Sidney, a daughter of the late David William and Georgia (Miller) Kennedy.

She was retired from the Department of Social Services, Child Support Enforcement Division. She was also employed by Marshall Craig and Pat Lathrop.

She was a member of the Lebanon Church of the Brethren.

In addition to her love for her church, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their activities, bird watching, listening to music, and was an avid sports fan.

In addition to her husband, whom she married on September 15, 1962, family members include a son, Kevin Kennedy Cline and daughter-in-law, Jana Napier-Cline, four grandchildren, Kendall, Chase, Carissa, and Chad Cline. Two sisters, Clara (Ray) Wright of Verona and Shirley (David) Cheever of Jim Falls, Wisconsin, a sister-in-law, Charlotte Kennedy of Staunton. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, George W., David Franklin, James E., and John L. Kennedy, and three sisters, Margaret Lockridge, Martha Walden and Mary McDowell.

The family will receive friends at the Lebanon Church of the Brethren in Mt. Sidney on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 5 until 8 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at the Lebanon Church of the Brethren with Rev. Matthew Fike officiating on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 6 p.m. Burial will be private in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lebanon Church of the Brethren Property Committee, 1168 Lebanon Church Road, Mt. Sidney, VA 24467.
