Solomon Kemp, farmer, was born 1787 in Greenville District, South Carolina; removed to Gwinnett County, Georgia, then Cobb County. He died in 1866 and was buried in the Kemp Cemetery in Cobb County (no marker). Wife, Sarah (born 1800), born South Carolina.

In searching for info on my own family lines which include the Hudson family, I've been lucky to have people share info on the Kemps. I'm simply passing it along and I hope it helps.

Mahala Melinda Kemp m. Charles Goodwin and lived on the old Sandtown Rd near her father Solomon. She was a widow in the 1860 census with sons John, Iverson, Henry, and Vestor, and daughter Narcissa. She is buried in Mars Hill Cemetery. Her brother, Wiley B. Kemp, is also buried there.
