Eileen Mary Kelly

Eileen Mary Kelly, Age 88 of Monroe, died 6:43 am Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe.

Born May 1, 1921 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of James and Margaret (O'Kelly) Kelly. Eileen received a Master's Degree in Music from the University of Michigan and went on to share her talents as a teacher in the Performing Arts for over fifty years. In her career, she was employed by several catholic schools in Michigan and Chicago, Illinois. Before her retirement in 1994, Eileen taught the last 35 years in the Dearborn Public School system. Eileen is an associate member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Music Education Conference, the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Organization, and the Dearborn Federation of Teachers.

She is survived by a cousin, Gladys Ramsay of Burlington, Ontario. Eileen is preceded by a brother, James Kelly.

Friends may call from 2 pm - 7:30 pm Monday at the IHM Motherhouse Chapel 610 W Elm Ave Monroe, MI 48162 where a Remembrance Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life will be at 10:00 am Tuesday at the Motherhouse Chapel. Rev Marc Gawronski, pastor of St Mary's Catholic Church, Monroe will officiate. Cremation will follow with interment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Southfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the IHM Retirement Fund.
