Evelyn was a graduate of Ducktown High School where she excelled in sports, especially basketball. After taking courses from McKenzie Business School she worked for TVA at Farner and later at Fontana Dam, and at the Bell Bomber Plant in Marietta during the War. She retired from Contel Telephone Service after 37 years of service.
Evelyn was loved and admired by her many friends and family and her memorial service was attended by many. She was a member of Scotts Creek Baptist Church.
