James Francis Asberry "J.A." Keenum

Death: Jan. 8, 1936

James Asbury was the son of James Wesley Keenum and Nancy Durham of Lumpkin County, Georgia.  His family left Swain County in 1903 and moved to the  Flinthill section of Fannin County on the waters of Hemptown Creek.

James married Amy Jane Emeline Beard and they were parents of seven sons and two daughters.

James moved to Ducktown and he and his two older sons worked in the mines, James being the overseer of a Tennessee Copper Company camp where workers lived while employed with the company.

I am doing family research and noticed the dates on this headstone is earlier than James William Keenum. I can not find this person as a child of Laura Beaver nor James William Beaver. The dates are older than need to be. I would think.Just saying.
