J. Elizabeth Baysinger, 87, of Westminster, MD, died Monday, March 29, 2010 in Westminster. Born June 25, 1922 in Carthage, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late John and Chloe Keeling. She was married for 60 years to Jerry Baysinger, who died April 11, 2002. She was a graduate of Avila College and had a M.Ed. from Central Missouri State University. She was a retired elementary school teacher for Kansas City public schools. She loved art, gardening, and travel, having visited every continent except Antarctica. She lived in Independence, Missouri most of her life, until moving to Westminster to be near her daughter and family after the death of her husband. She was a former member of the Messiah Church of the Brethren in Kansas City, MO, and a member of the Westminster Church of the Brethren. Surviving are daughter and son-in- law Connie and Miller Davis of Westminster; grandchildren Robert Burk and wife Sue of Westminster, and Kelly Burk of Richmond, Indiana; step- grandchildren Jonathan Davis and wife Lisa of Ellicott City, and Jolene Davis of Manchester; great-grandchildren Sean Burk and Abby Burk of Westminster, and Gailen Davis and Finn Davis of Ellicott City; sister-in-law Thelma Keeling of Bakersfield, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by children Daniel Baysinger, Steven Baysinger, and John Baysinger; 2 brothers, and 4 sisters. A memorial service was held in Maryland with her granddaughter Kelly Burk and Pastor Twyla Rowe officiating. An additional memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Messiah Church of the Brethren, 1925 Hardesty, Kansas City, MO. Inurnment will follow in Independence, MO. Fletcher Funeral Home of Westminster, MD, is handling the arrangements. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Messiah Church of the Brethren, 1925 Hardesty, Kansas City, MO 64127.
