MORGANTON - Mr. Earl "Sugg" Kaylor, 83, of Morganton, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Valdese General Hospital.

He was born on April 16, 1921, in Caldwell County and was the son of the late Albert Washington Kaylor and Beulah Bean Kaylor.

He was a veteran of World War II and was in the United States Navy.

He was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Skidmore Kaylor; a daughter, Rhonda Kaylor Buchanan of Valdese; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Kathryn Kaylor of Shelby; grandchildren, Scott Buchanan, Kevin Buchanan, Rebeka Shealy, Robert Kaylor, James Kaylor, Brooks Tester and Shay Tester; and one great-grandson, Jordan Tester.

Mr. Kaylor is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Hickory.

Interment will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
