Earl Lowry Kerbow was born on September 13, 1921, in Dallas, Texas. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Earl B. Kerbow. Sgt. Kerbow was a Tail Gunner on a B-17F, #41-24501, "Daisy's Coffee Shop," assigned to the 38th Bomb Squadron, 306th Bomb Group (Heavy). He lost his life on January 3, 1943 during the attack on the Submarine Pens at St. Nazaire, France. He was shot while floating down to the ground in his parachute by German soldiers. His awards include the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Presidential Unit Citation, Purple Heart and associated theater medals. The Missing Air Crew Report is #15627. His final resting placed is at the Brittany American Cemetery, Brittany, France Plot M, Site #4, Grave #11.
