Irene M. Jordan, 94, of Bethlehem died Friday, July 15, 2016 at Manor Care in Bethlehem. Born April 7, 1922 in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Adelina (Prosperi) and Mariano Marcantognini. She was married to Alfonso "Al" A. Jordan for 59 years until his death on March 4, 2006.
Irene was a 1941 graduate of Liberty High School and a 1970 Northampton Community College graduate where she received her degree in nursing becoming an LPN. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and its Sodality, several Bridge and Pinochle card clubs, the Holy Family Manor Ladies Auxiliary, St. Bernard's Ladies Auxiliary, and the Ladies of Friendship. She also volunteered her time at Holy Family Manor and with the Cancer Boutique for 40 years.
Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cynthia L. Friend and husband Michael of Bethlehem, sons, Larry M. Jordan and wife Cheryl of Landenberg, PA and Alfred F. Jordan and wife Alison of Arnold, MD, sister, Eleanor Bartera of Bethlehem, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eva Santanasto.
Services: A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 7-9 PM and again Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne's Catholic Church 450 Washington Ave, Bethlehem at 10 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
