Grace Wynne Jones, age 84 of Hawkinsville, Georgia died on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Pinewood Manor Nursing Home in Hawkinsville. Funeral services will be held at Hawkinsville First Baptist Church on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 3p.m. with Dr. Don McClung officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service in the social hall of First Baptist Church from 1:30p.m. to 2:45p.m.
Mrs. Jones was born in Bleckley County on September 4, 1932 to the late J.T. Wynne, Sr. and Marjorie Wynne. She was a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church and worked for Dr. W.E. Coleman for 30 years as his secretary. Grace was the first female member of the Big Red Booster Club that supports athletic activities at Hawkinsville High School. She was an active member of the booster club for many years. Mrs. Jones was also an accomplished seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hap Jones and her daughter, Susan Kay Jones.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hawkinsville First Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia State Office at: 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta GA 30346, Attn: Susan Aldana, VP of Development. The Family will receive friends at the residence of Keith and Kathy Jones, 1107 Hwy 26 East , Cochran, Georgia .
