William Jones and his wife Eleanor came to Indiana by 1830 and settled at the south end of what became North Salem. They died sometime between 1850 and 1860. They had seven children: Sarah (b.~1828), Elizabeth (b.~1829), David D. (b.~1830), Samuel (b.~1832), Eleanor (b.~1834), Mary M. (b.~1837), and William A. (b.~1839).
Their graves were recently discovered. William's stone was not found.
