Allan D Jones, age 60, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia surrounded by his loving family.

He was a member of Marion Baptist Church; Staff Sergeant with the First Force Recon Division in the United States Marine Corps having served in Vietnam; life time member of the VFW Post #4667; and owner and operator of Smyth County Ambulance Service for more than 30 years. Allan was an avid golfer and loved his role as patriarch of his family.

He is survived by his wife, Nan R. Jones of Abingdon, Virginia; one daughter, Christy J. Moss and husband Andrew of Marion, Virginia; one son, Aaron D. Jones and wife Jenn Jonkers-Jones of Chilhowie, Virginia; two step-sons, Tanner Smith of Gate City, Virginia, Tyler Smith and wife Emily of Gate City, Virginia; one sister, Vicki Donnelly of Abingdon, Virginia; one brother, Greg Jones of Rich Valley, Virginia; two grandsons; Carl Roy and Landen Smith; step-mother, Pat Jones of Marion, Virginia; two step-brothers, Robbie Fry of Augusta, Georgia, Brad Fry of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Dr. Mark Ross and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by Marion VFW Post # 4667. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the Jones Family.
