Alice C Jones was born in Wellington, Alabama on Sept 2, 1907 to Clarissa (Duggan) and W W Dillard. On Dec 23, 1930, she married Dave L Jones. During World War II, she was employed as a riveter at an aircraft bomber plant in Michigan and ship building plants in New Orleans and California. Mrs Jones was a member of the Rosie the Riveter Association. She retired after teaching school for Bartlett ISD for 29 years. Mrs Jones was a member of First Baptist Church in Bartlett and Taylors Valley Baptist Church in Temple.
She was preceded in death by her parnets; her husband; six brothers; four sisters; and one grandson, Gary Jacks.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty L Jackson of Academy and Billie J Compton of Shelby, Alabama; four grandchildren, Lisa Marek, Brent Carlson, Brad Carlson, and Craig Carlson; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
