Obituary for Elsie Hammond Jones
Elsie Hammond Jones of Monroe, LA departed from this world on September 7, 2017 at the age of 88 after a brief illness. She was a Manager for the Bayou Desiard Country Club in Monroe and also was employed by O.K. Finance until her retirement. She was always affectionate and warm to others. She was very proud of her family. She cherished every moment she got to spend with her grandchildren. She was married to Maurice Jones of Monroe, LA for forty-seven years before his death in 1999. She had two sons, Glynn and Dale Jones that she loved deeply that preceded her death.
She is survived by two sisters, Lula Wetzel and Elaine Hemphill both of Shreveport. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones Roberts, Anna Jones Ardoin, and Matthew Fox; and daughter-in-law, Susan Fox, all of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, Finn Fox, Bryan Roberts, and Ella Fox. She will be deeply missed as she was loved dearly by her family.
Family and friends will gather at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA on Sunday, September 10, 2017, for visitation from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM. Funeral services will be at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel at 2:00 PM Monday, Sept. 11,2017, with Rev. Job Edathinatt officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
