OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - July 14, 1944
The death of Gilbert S. Jones, 40, occurred suddenly Thursday evening at 9:15 o'clock in the home of his sister, Mrs. Oras Parrett, 750 Congress street. Mr. Jones had been ill only since during the afternoon. He had consulted a physician a few hours previous to his death. Death was attributed to coronary occlusion.
Mr. Jones was born in Wabash county Oct. 16, 1903 to Ralph and Golda (Lawrence) Jones. He was first married to Helen Burnsworth and later to Mrs. Ruth Thorn of Muncie.
He is survived by two children of his first marriage. Thomas Jones of the US Navy and Mary Frances Jones, Roann; a step-daughter, Mrs. William Calvert, Columbia City; his sister, Mrs. Parrett and a step-father, J.L. Hanson, Warsaw. His grandfather S.T. Jones also survives.
The decedent was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Members of both organizations will assisit with the funeral services.
The body will remain in the Wire Funeral home where friends may call and where the service arrangements will be made after word has been received from the son in the Navy. The Rev. L.A. Singer will officiate and burial will be in Falls cemetery.
