MAHAFFEY -- Mrs. Evelyn Mae Dickey, wife of James P. Dickey and a lifelong resident of Greenwood Township, died in her home at Mahaffey R.D. 2 yesterday at 8:30 p.m. Death was due to an acute heart attack.
Mrs. Dickey was born in Greenwood Twp., Sept 1, 1901, a daughter of Frederick B. and Mary E. McCracken Johnston. She has been a member of the Curry Run Methodist Church for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and three daughters: Vance, Clearfield; Marjorie and Jeanette, Mahaffey R.D.; and Thyra, Altoona. She also leaves three sisters: Mrs. Ellsworth Milton, New Wilmington; Mrs. Roy Curley, Pompano Beach, Fla.; and Mrs. Adda Bell, Mahaffey.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, max and Sam Johnston, and a daughter, Grace.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. from the T.R. McCracken Funeral Home, Mahaffey, with the Rev. John B. Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Mahaffey Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Sunday until time of services Monday.
