CHESTERFIELD-ALBERT JOHNSON, a retired farmer of Palmyra, former Chesterfield resident died at 8:30 a.m. today in the Carlinville Area Hospital where he had been patient for several days. He was 74. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson, he was born on March 16, 1887 at Secor. He had resided east of Chesterfield for 35 year prior to moving to the Palmyra area a year ago last October.
He is survived by his wife Elsie. One daughter , Mrs Jennie Weger at Chatham and five sons. William of Greenfield. Otto, St. Paul, Minn. Charles, Jacksonville, FLa. Clemmeth of Plainview and Bud Johnson of Carlinville. 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call at the Stults Funeral Home in Palmyra after 7 p.m. today. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m Saturday in the funeral home, followed by interment in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Rodney Ruberg, Pastor of the United Church at Chesterfield, assisted by Rev. Olson will officiate.
