Mrs. Clara Compton, 71, of Springfield, died yesterday at Memorial hospital where she had been a medical patient since Feb. 6. Mrs. Compton was born in Springfield and spent her entire life here. On Oct. 21, 1903, she was married to Edward M. Compton who died in 1944. She was a member of the Asbury Methodist church.
She is survived by a nephew, Grover Deerwester, city, and two great-nephews.
