Esther Lillian Caldwell, 72, resident of Bonneville County since 1915, died at an Idaho Falls hospital Wednesday afternoon.

She was born Aug. 26, 1893, at Crookston, Minn., the daughter of John Gustave and Matilda Marie Johnson. When she was six years old the family moved to Mountain Home, Idaho, where she grew up and attended school.

At the age of 18 she moved to Pocatello to work and March 17, 1914, she married William Albert Caldwell, Pocatello. The following May they homesteaded a farm in the Bone area and lived there for 14 years and then moved to Montana for four years. They returned to Bone in 1933.

In 1951 they moved to Idaho Falls where she has lived since. He died Dec. 14, 1951. Since then she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. George Meyer, Idaho Falls. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Parish.

She is survived by sons and daughters, Mrs. William (Marie) Spraker, Blackfoot; Mrs. George (Helen) Meyer, Idaho Falls; Zane and Rolland Caldwell, both of Blackfoot, nine grandchildren, one brother, Gardner Johnson, Idaho Falls, and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Campbell, Lava Hot Springs.
