Svea Marie Grange, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sept. 7, 2009, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Mom was born July 9, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Knut and Ester Johnson. She graduated from Shelley High School, where she met her husband, Rex Grange. They were married in Las Vegas, Nev., on Dec. 9, 1946. They returned to live in Shelley to work with the Grange family dairy.

Mom truly loved meeting new people, which made her very successful in the field of sales, which she did most of her life. She worked at Hudson Shoes and the American Fur Co. in downtown Idaho Falls and she spent many years selling for the Idaho Falls Monument Co. She and Dad then opened RainSoft Water Conditioning and, of course, Mom did the selling. Culligan Water Conditioning then purchased RainSoft and Mom became the "Culligan Gal." She was very proud to be honored by Culligan USA with the Presidents Sales Award numerous times.

After retiring, Mom took up oil painting, which she really enjoyed. She took great pride in keeping her home and yard in tiptop shape and did the same at her cabin at McCrea's Ranch in Island Park. She loved to spend the summers at the cabin and was happiest when friends and family were there. She loved them all.

She is survived by her children, Larry (Lorna Buttars) Grange and Shawna (Craig) Jenkins, both of Idaho Falls, and Greg (Barbara) Grange of Chubbuck; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Norma Johnson of Idaho Falls and Greta Rhine of Boise. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Rolland.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm St., with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Falasco officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
