H Thomas Johnson was second Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court, 1845-1853 following Judge Daniel Ringo (1803KY-1873AR), just prior to his brother-in-law, Judge George Claibourne Watkins (1815KY-1872MO)who was followed by Judge Elbert Hartwell English, the longest serving, most cherished and honorable Chief Justice ~ Arkansas has ever had.

Married to oldest sister of Arkansas' third chief justice, Judge George Claibourne Watkins' 1st wife, Mary Adams Crease (1823DC-1855AR).
