Charlotte Rebecca Beaty, 80, of Winchester, Virginia, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Winchester Medical Center.
Ms. Beaty was born in 1936, in Warren County, VA, the daughter of the late, William G. and Bessie Jennings. She lived in Bentonville as a child and graduated from Warren County High School in 1954. She worked as a children’s caregiver in her earlier years, then she went and worked for Capitol Records for about 13 years. Her final employment was with Shockey’s, allowing her to retire around 2001. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Flowers were very dear to her, especially dogwood trees and roses. She enjoyed planting and growing her own. She was devoted to her family, enjoyed watching her daughter and cheering her on when she played basketball and watching football, and later loved and enjoyed spending time with her four great-grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor along with a talent for baking an incredible carrot cake and coconut cake and making each meal for her children special with her famous gravy as a part of every meal when they were younger.
Ms. Beaty was preceded in death by her sister, Annabelle Burke.
Ms. Beaty is survived by her two daughters, Rhonda Garrett, of Winchester, VA and Crystal L. Beaty (Tina Malloy), of Winchester, VA; two grandchildren, Rebecca Carlyle (David), of Winchester, VA and Michael P. Garrett (Amanda), of Gore, VA; four great-grandchildren, Logan Campbell, of Winchester, VA, Hunter A. Garrett, of Winchester, VA, William T. Campbell, of Winchester, VA, and Landon M. Garrett, of Gore, VA; sister, Kathleen Callis, of Front Royal, VA; and two brothers, William Jennings, of Bentonville, VA and Donnie Jennings.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, at Omps South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Pastor David Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Chris Galloway, Zach Rank, Michael P. Garrett, Logan Campbell, William T. Campbell, and David M. Carlyle.
