Floy Dixie Brown

Floy Dixie Brown, 91, 1305 K Street, died at 6:05PM Tuesday at Mitchell Manor Health Care Center.
Born in Horse Cave, KY, she was the daughter of James William and Anna Elizabeth (Page) Jeffries.
She first married Jesse Owen, and he died in 1930 from injuries suffered in Dark Hollow Quarry. Her second husband, Clarence Brown, died in 1960.
She was a retired tavern owner and a member of Oolitic Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Paul Owen, of Tuscumbia, Alabama; one daughter, Mrs. Christina Gratzer, Tuscumbia, Alabama; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and a son, Leonard, who is also buried in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Graveside services will be at 1PM Friday in Beech Grove Cemetery in Bedford, with the Rev. Richard Tallman officiating.
