Funeral for Madras Jeffreys Baker, 79, of Trinity will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. John Clotfelter officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Baker died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Trinity to William T. Jeffreys and Nellie Gantt Jeffreys. She was a member of Mount Zion Eastern Star and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was the widow of DeWitt F. Baker and a homemaker. She was a lifelong resident of Trinity and active in civic work.

Survivors include three sons, Johnny Franklin Baker and Jerry DeWitt Baker, both of Trinity, and James Michael Baker of New York City; two sisters, Ann Holloway of Corinth, Miss., and Sara Langton of San Jose, Calif.; two grandaughters, and one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Jeffrey Terry, Tim Norton, Ricky Brenner, Roy Manley, Ernest C. "Snooky" Kimbrell, Shane Hitt, Brian Harris and Bradley Roden.
