Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein, Iowa; Officiating: Rev. Charis Combs-Lay; Visitation: from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and after 9:30 A.M. on Friday at the church; Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in rural Oelwein, Iowa.
Fontella Ruth Voshell was born on July 23, 1924 in McGregor, Iowa, the daughter of Merle and Annetta (Gray) Voshell. She attended Volga High School at Volga, Iowa. Fontella married Lester LaVerne Jarchow on November 15, 1942 in West Union, Iowa. She worked at City Laundering Co. in Oelwein for many years. Fontella was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and WELCA. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and good friends, gardening and traveling. Fontella is survived by her son—Dennis (Monica) Jarchow of Cedar Falls, Iowa 2 Grandchildren—Jack Jarchow and Jenna Jarchow. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband (Lester L. Jarchow on January 19, 2008).
