Valarie was born June 5, 1947 to the late Stephen and Helen (Young) Jacob in Bay City.
She was married to Sgt. Douglass Czap on December 20, 1969. He predeceased her on April 11, 1973.
Kay was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.
She is survived by her two much-loved daughters: Amy Lynn Czap-Wenglikowski and Brenda Ann Czap-Lyddy (Brad Perrou) of Essexville; four grandchildren: Kayla Lyddy, Kody and Mallory Wenglikowski and Corey Perrou; her brother: roger Jacob; her sister: Shirley Murphy. Kay is also survived by her companion of 34 years: Floyd J. Solinski and his girls: Theresa (Tom) Joles, Mary Bell, Tammie Solinski, Kim (Mike) Gerhardt, Julie (Rick) Sautter, Sherri (Curt) Colberg, and Karen (Mike) Barry, her sister-in-law: Sandy Jacob; and many loved nieces and nephews and dear friends. Besides her parents and her husband, Kay was preceded in death by her brothers: Larry Jacob, Ken Jacob, Lesley Jacob; and her two sisters: Vivian Jacob and Betty Homminga.
Kay lived life to do all she could for her daughters and grandchildren who were the world to her.
She spent many mornings at Krysiak's Restaurant having coffee and telling stories with friends. She enjoyed farming with Floyd, trips to the U.P. where they have a cabin, and selling produce at her stand in Bangor Township.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, February 28, 2011 at 11:00 am in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Kay will lie in state in church Monday after 10:00 am. Rev. Richard M. Filary will preside and interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be designated for Brian's House or the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Visiting hours with the family will be Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 and 5:00 until 8:00, with the Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Online condolences: www.trahanfc.com
