Mother Dorothy Brown is the oldest of six children born to the union of Luther C. Jackson and Margaret E. Jackson. She attended Booker T. Washington High School, and later married Phillip Thomas Brown. Mother Brown was a dedicated member of the Mount Gilead Baptist Church Mother Board, Peace and Goodwill Club and Chairperson of the Twelve Tribes Program; the annual fundraiser event for Women's Day. She was a faithful and beloved member of the Atlanta Journal Constitution family. She leaves to cherish her fond memories one daughter, Shonia Brown; four sisters, one brother, an aunt, Mary Banks, nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. The service was held at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 1537 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Atlanta, GA. Rev. Jerome Banks officiated. Carl M. Williams Funeral Directors, Atlanta.
