Born in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late James C. and Ellie H. Jackson. A homemaker, her husband, Ernest Cecil Garrett, died in 1964. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Louie Jackson, Mell Jackson and sister, Lillian Shedd. She was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church.
Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, James Garrett, Eddie and Barbara Garrett and Lavohn and Sue Garrett, all of Statham, and Hinton (Bud) Garrett of Winder; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Hull Jackson of Snellville.
Services were Thursday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. at Bethabara Baptist Church with the Rev. Rob Bray and Brother Asa Thomas officiating; interment in the church cemetery.
