HOUSTON - Levert Ivy, 53, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born Nov. 23, 1959, to Christine Ivy and the late Prince Ivy. He received his education from the Clay County Schools. He was a member of Lower Prairie Creek M.B. Church. He was a former employee of Ashley and a current employee of United Furniture. A loving and caring person, he made everyone smile with his smile.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lower Prairie Creek M.B. Church with the Rev. Eugene Ford officiating. Williams Memorial is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Angeline Gates Ivy of Houston; his mother, Christine Ivy of Okolona; two daughters, Demetria Gates and Shaketia Gates of Housotn; one son, Arzarius Ivy of Houston; eight sisters, Johnnie Hunter of Tupelo, Ruby Lofton of Savannah, Gladys Marshall and Linda Cousin of Houston, Sally Wofford of Woodland, Era McDonald of Jackson, Mammie Grice of Woodland and Annie Hollings of Memphis; six brothers, Charles White of St. Louis, Rev. Herbert Ivy of Woodland, Leon Ivy of Pheba, William Ivy of Houston, Jery Ivy of Mathiston and Prince Cousin of West Point; five grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
