Elsie M. Nash, 87, Williamsburg, passed away Monday afternoon at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late James S. and Bessie M. (Gates) Ingham. On June 26, 1947, she married John J. Nash in Winchester, Va., and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1987.

Surviving are a daughter, Cathy J. (Thomas) Wakefield of Bedford; five grandchildren: Chris and Dustin Nash, Jamie Shultz and J.T. and Thad Wakefield; five great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sondra Nash of Williamsburg; and two nieces: Joyce Karichner and Linda Fritz.

She was preceded in death by a son, John W. “Bill” Nash on March 27, 2003; a sister, Gladys Augustine; and three brothers: Adrian, Eddie and twin, Elvin.

Elsie was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School. She was primarily a homemaker who, for many years, also owned and operated Elsie’s Sewing Shop from her home in Williamsburg. She was a member of Williamsburg Church of the Brethren, and she loved spending time with her family and she also enjoyed sewing and going to yard sales.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service, Thursday, July 27, 2017, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, Pastor Allen J. Baker Jr. and Mr. David Cadle officiating. A private inurnment will be held at Geeseytown Cemetery, rural Hollidaysburg.

The family prefers that memorial contributions in memory of Elsie be given to Williamsburg Ambulance Club, P.O. Box 94, Williamsburg, PA 16693, or to Williamsburg Public Library, 511 W. Second St., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
