Graveside services for Betty Hutto Barnett, 69, of Palestine, and formerly of Buffalo, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 3 at Marquez Cemetery in Marquez with the Rev. Billy Bob Evans officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home, Jewett. Mrs. Barnett died Tuesday, Mar. 31, 2009, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born Aug. 6, 1939 to Willis and Eva Hutto. She was a graduate of Jewett High School. Mrs. Barnett worked at the Pitt Grill restaurant in Buffalo for many years and later managed the Perry Bros. and Duckwall's variety stores in Centerville and Jewett. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, cooking and gardening. She was a Baptist, a devoted mother and a beloved grandmother and dear friend to many. Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Billy Foley and Gerald Barnett; sister, Eloise Raymond; and brother, Cameron Hutto. She is survived by sons, Bill Foley and wife Beth and Mike Foley and wife Josephine; grandchildren, Michael Foley, Stewart Foley, Willis Foley, Erin Foley and Lauren Foley; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home, 914 Main St. in Jewett. An online guest book is available at www.bowersfuneralhome.net.
