Carol Jeanne Hunter, 87, passed away on Jan. 18 in Salt Lake City.

Carol Jeanne, she was born to Athol Ricks Smellie and Iva Wilhelmina Smellie on June 15, 1929, in Salt Lake City.

Jeanne was a life-long resident of Summit Park, and was a vibrant and memorable member of her community; she was a faithful and life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a brave single mother of two boys. She will be missed by those who loved her.

Jeanne is survived by two sons, Todd (Marlene) and Michael (Christine); grandchildren Lindsay, Andrew, Zachary, Ryan and Molly; and her great grandson, Aiden. She is also survived by her cousin, Toni-Ann (Mel) and her family (Utah), which includes nephew Michael, and nieces Carolyn and Geri-Lynn and their families (Texas).

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Athol and Iva Smellie, and her brother, Gary Smellie.

Services will be held Monday, Jan. 30, at 11a.m. at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple in Salt Lake City). Friends and family can call prior to the service Monday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary.

Interment will be at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
