Clara Eunice Black died Thursday, Nov 7, 1985 in the Coronada Community Hospital, Pampa Texas at the age of 92 years, 10 months, 5 days.
Services were held in the Church of the Nazarene at Elk City, Oklahoma, Saturday, Nov 9, 1985. Rev A W Myers, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, Pampa and a nephew C R Tucker, pastor of Lake Creek Baptist Church near Granite, Oklahoma, officiated. Burial followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Elk City under the direction of Carmichial Whatley Funeral Home, Pampa, Texas.
Clara was married to George Leonard Black in Sayre on Dec 24, 1913. They moved to Lefors in 1944 and to Pampa in 1950.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966 and a son Mearl in 1980.
Survivors include two daughters: Maxine Hapeman and Earnestine Ammons, Pampa, Texas; one son, Earl of Pampa, Texas; one grandson Douglas Leon Black of Elkhart, Kansas whom Mr and Mrs Black raised; four sisters; Nancy Sites of California; Velma Crook of the Port Community; Bessie Jenkins and Pearl Shelton, Elk City and 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren plus a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
