Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Somerset Undertaking Company chapel for Mr. William Henry Humble, 74 whose death occurred Tuesday morning, February 23, at the home of his son, Otto Humble, after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Wayne County March 22, 1862, the son of the late Daniel and Martha Brazeal Humble. He was married January 19, 1893, to Malinda Chumbley and to this union were born seven children, three of whom died in infancy and a fourth, a son, Auda, giving his life in the World War. Mrs. Humble preceded her husband to the grave two years and three months ago. Mr. Humble became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age and lived a faithful Christian life. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a prominent farmer in this county. He farmed in Indiana for a while but returned to this county five years ago. He became ill while in Florida recently and returned to Somerset to the home of his son. The Rev. A.R. Perkins conducted the last rites and interment was in the Somerset City Cemetery. Besides his son, the deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Victoria Hall and Mrs. Ethel Wilson, both of Detroit; three brothers, J.I. Humble of Nancy, Lewis Humble of Jamestown, and Lige Humble of Russell Springs. Seven grandchildren also survive.
