Georgiana Hughes or Hewes was the daughter of Cyrus and Sarah (Ellis) Hughes. Her father was born in Gloucester, MA and her mother in Richmond, VA. Georgiana was of mixed ancestry although some of her documents list her as African American.
On June 12, 1879 she married John Albert Burr in Springfield. He was a button maker then.
They had 2 sons:
1. William Fred Burr, born July 31, 1879.
2. Nathan, born Dec.27, 1880.
They later divorced.
She was a cook in Springfield at the time of her death.
