5 Jul 2009: Leah E. Day, 85, formerly of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the Middletown Home, Lower Swatara Township. She was born in Baltimore, MD on July 20, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Warren and Sarah Jane Kohl Hufman. Leah was a retired employee of the former New Cumberland Army Depot; was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Middletown and NARFE. She was the widow of Roy E. Day Sr.; devoted mother of Thomas A., husband of Jennie Day of Maineville, OH; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Day of Edison, NJ; sister, Gloria M. May of Rosedale, MD; step-sisters, Anne Hufman and Lysbeth Lynn Hirch; loving grandchildren, Phillip Day of Columbus, OH; Asleigh Day of Maineville, OH; Kathleen Day of New York City, NY; and Amy Day of Brunswick, NJ. Leah was preceded in death by her son, Roy E. Day Jr.; sister, Jeanette Stanton (Hufman) Day of Arvada, CO and a brother, David Hufman of Bath, NC. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2009 in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Spring & N. Union Streets, Middletown, with the Rev. Dr. J. Richard Eckert officiating.
