Rubye Louise Hudson Carroll, 94, of Waco, passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, in Regent Care Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at OakCrest Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Rubye was born in Durrand, Ga., to the late John and Nancy (Burham) Hudson. She attended school in Durrand and graduated as high school valedictorian. She married Ike Carroll on Sept. 3, 1939, in Atlanta, Ga., and they would have celebrated 69 years of marriage next month. They moved to Waco in 1950 where she was a homemaker and also assisted her husband in operating Carroll & Rogers Office Machines for many years. She was a charter member of the Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Daughters of the Nile.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Ike Carroll; son, Wayne Lee Carroll and wife, Deborah, of College Station; daughters, Nancy Gravley, of Austin, and Patsy Girsh and husband, Louis, of Broaddus, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; many other family members and numerous friends.
