Emma Fern Beaver
Emma Fern Beaver, 65, of Johnston City, passed away 1:20 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2011 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Emma was the youngest of twelve children. She was born May 9, 1946 in Royalton to George and Hope (Hewlett) Hubbard. She was united in marriage to John A. Beaver on March 12, 1966 at the First Baptist Church in Johnston City. Emma and John have shared 45 years together.
Emma retired in May 2008 from the Family Care Hearing Center in West Frankfort. She also took care of several children over the years. Emma was a Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Johnston City.
Emma was very crafty and enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She also enjoyed making ceramic dolls. Emma and John enjoyed going to flea markets together.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Beaver of Johnston City; three children, Tanyah Eubanks and husband Danny of West Frankfort, Monette Logue and husband Steve of Makanda and John Beaver, Jr. of Johnston City; three grandchildren, Owen Beaver, Hannah and Emily Eubanks; one brother, Bill Hubbard and wife Barbara of Lake City, FL.; five sisters, Betty Hudgens and husband Sam of Marion, Virginia Lenich and husband William of Mendota, Melba Maddox and husband Burt of West Frankfort, Alice Peters and husband Alfred of Highland, Talpha Wooters and husband Gene of Findley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank and Ed Hubbard; three sisters, Delores Mayer, Mary Hampton and Shelby Sanders.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City, with Rev. Chris Cutsinger officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Coach Kill Cancer Fund.
