Bessie R. (Jones) Hubbard was born January 7, 1922 in Bynum, Alabama to Amizie and Willie Jones. Her mother, father and brother preceeded her in death.

Bessie with her family moved to Luther, OK in 1927. She attended Wahington School where she later graduated in 1940. During her early years, she accepted Christ and united with the First Baptist Church in Luther, under the leadership of Rev. E.J. Perry.

In 1939, she moved to Oklahoma City, where she united with the New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.D. Provo. She served as one of the office secretaries faithfully at New Hope.

She later met and married the Rev. T.H.Hubbard on February 20, 1950. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. J.T. Austin of Shiloh Baptist Church. To this union, no children were born.

She united with the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Boley,Ok, and served as First Lady and Sunday School teacher, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Holdenville, Ok, where she served as Sunday School teacher of the youth and Rafield Baptist Church, Muskogee,OK, where she served as First Lady, Sunday School teacher, and a member of the choir. These churces were pastored by her husband.

She entered college at Northwestern State University, Tahlequah, OK. Later, she moved to OKC in 1958 and entered Central State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Science. She taught school for twenty-one years in the OKC Public School system.

Upon moving to OKC, she united with the Shiloh Baptist Church, where she established a library, served as Sunday School teacher, chairman of Decorating Committee, Young Adult Counselor, faithful choir member, active member of the W.M.U., and President fo the East Zion District Minister's Wives.

She leaves to mourn: one niece, G.V. Nubine of Cheyenne, Wyoming; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
