Eva Alexander, age 88, of Bemidji, Minnesota died, Friday, September 19, 2008 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji, MN.

A memorial service will be at Bemidji Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Paul Comstock officiating on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, MN.

Eva Elizabeth Alexander was born December 5, 1919 in Becida, MN to John and Edna (Stecker) Hower. She grew up in the Blackduck, MN area.

On May 24, 1945, Eva married Fred Burk in Crookston, MN. They raised their family on Bainbridge Island, Washington until they moved back to Blackduck December 1962. Fred died in December 14, 1966.

Eva then moved to Bemidji where she worked first at the Bemidji Hospital and then Beltrami County Nursing Home (now Havenwood).

On November 14, 1981 she married Harold Huffstutler in Bemidji. They lived on Blackduck Lake during the summer months and in Florida during the winter. Harold died August 7, 1994.

Eva married Cliff Alexander July 18, 1998 in Reidsville, GA and they made their home there for several years. Eva moved to Minnesota in July of 2005 where she lived with her daughter Sharon and her family in Cass Lake for nearly 2 years before moving to Gold Pine Home in Bemidji, MN. Eva was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, being baptized in 1973.

She is survived by 4 children, Kenny Burk of Collins, GA, Jerry (Linda) Burk of Bemidji, MN, Wanda (Dennis) Gulbranson of Bremerton, WA and Sharon (Curt) Hinkemeyer of Cass Lake, MN, 1 brother, Calvin (Marge) Hower of Blackduck, MN, 1 sister, Jessie Johnson of Blackduck, MN. 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
