John J. Howells, son of the late John W. Howells, died Friday night in Parsons at the home of his mother on George avenue. The deceased was born in Wilkes-Barre about 24 years ago and has lived in this vicinity nearly all his life. Be was for the past six years engaged in the drug business and for the past two years a partner with Dr. Faulds in a drug store at Luzerne Borough. He was regarded as one of the best and most competent druggists in this vicinity. In his business intercourse he was courteous and agreeable and in the home circle he was kind and affectionate. His death is a severe blow to his mother and sister to whom he was always very much attached. The immediate cause of death was lung trouble from which he has been ailing some time. The funeral was on Tuesday at one o'clock with interment in Hollenback cemetery, this city.
