Marjorie A. (Howard) Benner-Salustro, a 10 year resident of Stoneham and formerly of Charlestown, died on Monday June 1, 2009 at her home in Stoneham after a lengthy illness. She was 82 years old.
Marjorie was born in Boston on April 23, 1927. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1945. Marjorie worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in their Division of Taxation as a bookkeeper and retired in 2003 after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association.

Marjorie is the devoted mother of Ann Benner and Kevin Benner and his wife Katherine all of Stoneham. She is the loving grandmother of Kevin and John Benner, Marc LaTerz and her great-grandson; Sean LaTerz. She is the beloved sister of John Howard of Dorchester, Walter Howard of Halifax, Patricia Motherway of Tewksbury, Phyllis Beauregard of Worcester, Elizabeth Howard of Charlestown, Agnes Florentino of Somerville, the late Irene Connolly, William, Victor, Arthur, Herbert, Donald and Robert Howard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie's Funeral will be held on Friday June 5, 2009 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be on Thursday June 4, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
