PITTSFIELD Jean M. Fazzino, 87, formerly of Wahconah Street, Pittsfield, died Friday, Dec. 18, at Springside of Pittsfield.
Born in Pittsfield, May 16, 1922, a daughter of James and Stella Harrington Hovey, she was educated in Pittsfield.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Fazzino had been a factory and mill worker during World War II. She had also worked at Dunkin Donuts at one time.
Mrs. Fazzino was a former communicant of St. Joseph Church.
She enjoyed country music and performed as a country-western singer for which she won many awards in New York state.
Mrs. Fazzino was a longtime volunteer. She organized a walking club in Dalton and attended many walking events in Boston.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Sebastian Fazzino.
Mrs. Fazzino is survived by three sons, Emanuel Fazzino, of Groton, Conn., Stanley "Jack" Fazzino, of Pittsfield, and Joseph Fazzino, of Pennsylvania; a daughter, Mary Baird of Norfolk, Conn., a sister, Dorothy Loehr, of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, Kirsten, Billie-Jo, John, Shawn, Kellie, and Jack with whom she was particularly close, as well as several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Ellen Hovey.
She was pre-deceased by two brothers, James Hovey and Joseph Hovey, and two sisters, Estelle Loehr and Delia LeBlanc.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for JEAN M. FAZZINO, who died Friday, Dec. 18, will be held at Fairview Cemetery in the Spring. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Fazzino may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
