Estella Mary Day, 84, of Washington, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2004, in Donnell House, Washington, following a brief illness.
She was born August 6, 1920, in Washington, Pa., a daughter of James Agnew and Nelle Paul Houston.
Mrs. Day worked as a sales clerk at Lang's for eight years, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Day played in the Monday Night Women's Bowling League and Senior Citizen's Bowling Leagu, and was inducted into Pennsylvania Bowling Hall of Fame in 2001. She also played in Tuesday Evening Golf League.
She was a troop leader and a Juliet Lowe chairwoman for the Girl Scouts in the 1950s, a class adviser of Y-Teens, a member of Washington Chapter Eastern Star 409 and White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Her best friend of 32 years was Ruth Comfort.
On January 8, 1937, she married Charles Raymond Day, who died October 30, 1972.
A daughter, Carol Ann Naser, is deceased.
